Buying half of beef is a great way to save money and ensure you always have dinner in the freezer. The traditional method of finding the right farmer and processor and determining cut selection and cost seems complicated and confusing. Few of us understand how the live weight, hanging weight, or box weight translates into what I can expect to get.

Remove the guesswork with the Amana Farms Half a Beef bundle. There is only so much room in your freezer; make sure it’s filled with your family’s favorites! We’ve selected the most popular cuts, removed the less desirable, and maximized the amount of ground beef for everyday meals and special occasions.

Our Half of Beef bundle includes approximately 262 pounds of finished beef. The breakdown is roughly 20% steaks, 15% roasts, and 65% ground beef & ground beef patties—a great way to stock up and save.

Purchasing the Half a Beef bundle requires freezer space or a friend to split the bounty. You’ll need about one cubic square foot of freezer space for every 30-35 lbs of cut and wrapped beef.

The Half bundle includes a complimentary digital meat thermometer.

  • Home Raised Cattle.
  • Certified USDA 100% natural beef– “minimally processed with no artificial ingredients.”
  • All beef employees are certified BQA Beef Quality Assurance.
  • No unnecessary antibiotics – we only administer antibiotics when needed for the treatment of an animal’s ill health.
  • Amana’s beef quality is equivalent to commonly accepted specifications for higher-tiered graded beef.
  • Locally Processed at a USDA Inspected Plant.
  • Aged a minimum of 21 days in Amana for premium flavor and tenderness.
  • All product is hand-cut by a trained Amana butcher, individually wrapped & vacuum sealed and frozen to lock in flavor.
  • For best taste from frozen products, use within 1-2 days after thawing.

Pick-up Options

All orders are hand-picked, so, usually, your order will be ready within 1-2 business days from the date you order online. We promise to keep you updated if dates change.

During the check-out process, you will be able to select a pick-up time that works best for you. If you’re not able to use one of our normal pick-up options, we will work with you to arrange the most convenient possible time. You can choose from the following pick-up options below:

  • Tuesdays between 4–6pm
  • Thursdays between 4–6pm
  • By Appointment Monday – Friday between 8am–4pm (We will call within 24-48 hours of your online order to schedule)


Delivery Options

Amana Farms Beef orders ship in thermally insulated boxes with freezer packs. The packaging will keep your beef safe for up to eight hours. Delivery type will automatically appear as an option for qualifying zip codes during checkout.

Local Delivery:
For customers within 30 miles of the Amana Colonies.

  • Tuesday’s delivery goes to Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Tiffin, Marengo, Williamsburg, and Solon.
  • Thursday’s delivery goes to Cedar Rapids, Marion, Hiawatha, Robins, Fairfax, Walford, Mt. Vernon, Swisher, and Vinton.
  • Delivery Charge – $35

Expanded Shipping:
This is for customers outside our local delivery area but within 150 miles of the Amana Colonies.

  • We ship on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with UPS or FedEx
  • Flat-Rate Shipping Charge: 10% of your order total with a minimum of $50 per address.
